Eastern Outreach offers The Sparks Course — a 6-week online programme designed to reignite young people’s enthusiasm for learning.
Through personalised activities that integrate Maths, English, and Communication Skills, students complete ASDAN Life Skills Challenges and earn a recognised certificate.

Our aim is to rebuild confidence, re-engage learners in education, and support positive next steps. The course can be commissioned directly through the young person’s current educational setting.

The Course Structure

This online course is structured to make the process, engaging, rewarding and easy to carry out for the learners taking part. The course consists of two core modules and a third module chosen by the learner.

Learners Complete Two Core Modules

Developing Communication Skills

 Learners will plan, research, and present information across a range of topics, demonstrating effective written and verbal communication.]

Developing IT Skills

Learners will build confidence and competence in using a range of Google tools, including Gmail, Google Forms (Quiz), and Google Meet, to support learning and collaboration.

Learners Will Then Choose One Interest Subject Course

Amplified: Music and Media

Learners will study a range of numeracy and literacy based activities that will include:-

Understanding and communicating information about the groups preferences around music and TV.

Literacy tasks to include, reading, spelling and writing based on a chosen TV programme or musician.

Numeracy tasks relating to this interest such as understanding time, sequences and recognising numbers up to 100

Sport In The Spotlight

 Learners will study a range of numeracy and literacy based activities that will include:-

Understanding and communicating information about the groups preferences around sport and athletes

Literacy tasks to include, reading, spelling and writing based on a chosen sport or athlete.

Numeracy tasks relating to this interest such as understanding time, sequences and recognising numbers up to 100

On The Move: Travel And Trips

Learners will take part in a range of numeracy and literacy based activities that will include:-

Understanding and communicating information about a trip or holiday

Literacy tasks to include, reading, spelling and writing based on a chosen Holiday or trip..

Numeracy tasks relating to this interest such as understanding money, time and recognising numbers up to 100

Reintroduction to Routine

The SPARK programme provides a gentle reintroduction to structured learning, consisting of three two hour sessions a week over a six week period. This is pivotal in helping learners to rebuild routine, focus and regain a real sense of purpose.

Tailored Online Learning

The SPARK course is delivered remotely, meaning young people can engage from the comfort of their safe space. This removes the anxiety of being in a new environment or educational setting.

Certification.

Learners will gain certification by working through ASDAN Lifeskills qualifications at entry level 3.

Tailored Curriculum

The learning is tailored towards the interest of the young person carrying out the course, with our interest module pathway.

Provision is delivered in small groups, ensuring support and attention.
