Outreach

Educational Outreach

We provide tutoring and mentoring to support young people who are struggling with mainstream education.

We deliver our sessions in blocks of two or three hours, either in the child or young person’s home (with another adult present) or in a community space such as a library or café.

Our support can include academic tutoring, life skills mentoring, or a combination of both. We can also help the child or young person complete work planned and provided by their home school. Where appropriate, they may work with us to achieve ASDAN Lifeskills Challenges in academic or vocational areas that match their interests.

Mentoring sessions may also involve activities outside the home, such as indoor climbing, sports, walks, or trips to libraries, museums, or parks—provided risk assessments are in place and the activity is suitable for the young person.

Eastern Outreach can also offer an Irlen Screening Assessment for the child or young person (available at an additional cost).

If a child or young person has an EHCP, we will need the plan, along with any relevant risk assessments and medical information, before sessions begin to ensure we meet their needs. For children and young people not currently in school, we can provide literacy and numeracy teaching tailored to their level and needs.
