Parent/Carer Referral
Having a child or young person not engaging in a mainstream education setting can be extremely worrying and potentially stressful. We understand that your child or young person may be experiencing social, emotional or mental health barriers to accessing their education. They may or may not have additional special needs too.

What will we discuss?
● What things your child/young person enjoys doing? What interests do they have?
● What worked well at school? Which subjects did they enjoy?
● How do they prefer to record their school work? On a laptop? On paper? Talking through and discussing their understanding?
● What hopes do they have for the future? Do they have an idea of what career or area they would like to work in when they are older?
● Does your child or young person have any additional needs? Do they have an EHCP?
● Does your child or young person have any medical issues we need to be aware of?
● Does your child or young person have a risk assessment in place for behavioural needs?
Learners with EHCPs
Our team of experienced professionals will support learners with EHCPs. Eastern Outreach will require access to the child or young person’s EHCP as part of the referral process in order to assess how we can make reasonable adjustments to meet need. Parent/ Carer consent will be required to share this information.
